By participating in this study, you are helping us understand the current knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours about air pollution and occupational exposures related to cancer.  Participating may also help you build awareness of your personal air pollution and occupational exposures.

Proof-of-concept studies are early-stage studies used to demonstrate whether a certain method or idea is feasible or if verifying the concept/theory has practical potential. A proof-of-concept study is normally smaller in scale.

Participation is voluntary and in order to participate, individuals will need to use a mobile device that has access to the internet.  Depending on the use of the app, we anticipate that the app will use less than 100MB of data.  There will be no reimbursement for the data used.

For the duration of the study period (2 weeks), depending on your use of the app, we anticipate that the app will use less than 100MB of data. Please check your data plan to ensure that it will be suitable for you.

We anticipate that the app will use less than 100MB of data, which is 1/10th of 1GB of data (1GB=1000MB).

The KYE application works with an existing Canada-based air pollution database to calculate air-pollution scores during commutes.

Try to search by a general term such as teacher, electrician, nursing aide, etc. rather than the complete job title.  Alternatively, try scrolling through the list of occupations until you find a close match.

The “Track Me” feature will max out after 2 hours.    

Yes, the “Track Me” section will still work if you are crossing a provincial border and you will still be provided with your average Air Pollution score.

For this proof-of-concept study, we plan to only enroll 300 ATP participants total and these participants will be randomly invited.  If selected for this study, you will be invited by email.
