Alberta’s Tomorrow Project  – Funding Sources

Alberta’s Tomorrow Project acknowledges the support of its generous funders:

Alberta Health

Alberta Health is a ministry within the Government of Alberta which, through the Department of Health, implements the Government of Alberta’s strategic direction for health and is responsible for overall policy, legislation and monitoring of the health system’s performance. Key functions include: advising government on health policy, legislation and standards; protecting public health and promoting wellness; assuring quality; planning capital infrastructure; overseeing the delivery of health care; supporting information management and technology, enabling health care professionals; funding the health system and general oversight.

Alberta Cancer Foundation

The Alberta Cancer Foundation makes life better for Albertans facing cancer by providing access to the best technologies, treatments and care. Because of these investments, cancer risk factors are reduced, faster diagnosis and effective treatments are provided and cancer patients and their families have improved quality of life. We are the official fundraising partner for all 17 cancer centres in Alberta, including the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary and the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. Through this partnership, we are able to make the most significant impact for patients, right at the point of care.

Alberta Health Services

AHS Logo

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.

Canadian Partnership Against Cancer

CPAC Logo

The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) and Health Canada work with Canada’s cancer community to reduce the burden of cancer on Canadians. Grounded in and informed by the experiences of those affected by cancer, the organizations collaborate with partners to put evidence into action to optimize cancer control planning and drive improvements in quality of practice across Canada. The organizations support the work of the collective cancer community in achieving long-term population outcomes: reduced incidence of cancer, less likelihood of Canadians dying from cancer, and an enhanced quality of life of those affected by cancer.

Past Funders

Alberta Innovates

Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions was established as part of the Alberta Innovates system by an Act of Legislation of the government of Alberta. It is an agency of the Government of Alberta. They receive a yearly allocation from the Ministry of Health and report through the ministry to the people of Alberta. In March 2016 the consolidation of Alberta Innovates was announced and on 1 November 2016 a single, integrated innovation powerhouse, Alberta Innovates, was formed.

Alberta Innovates delivers funding and support to a broad provincial community that spans all dimensions of health research and innovation activity. Their vision is to transform the health, health system and well-being of Albertans through research and innovation.
